Early valley gig 6/26! Skinny’s Lounge in NoHo
Hey now, Lightnin’ Woodcock & the Bad Muthafuckas are gonna pop the cherry on this gig at Skinny’s Lounge next Tuesday 6/26 at 7:30 sharp! Lightnin’ means that we start at 7:30, if you show up at 8 PM, you will miss us. Fuck it, just pretend I said 7 PM, alright? Appearing with Metalachi and many others.
Unfortunately, Lightnin’ is gonna miss ‘em because I’m going to play a solo set at The Redwood in DTLA later on in the evening for Tyson’s Birthday Party! Hope to see you at one or the other… or both, if you really wanna party with Lightnin’.

DTLA Wed 6/20 w/ Tulsa Skull Swingers!
Lightnin‘ is very excited to join forces with The Tulsa Skull Swingers this Wednesday at the Redwood Bar in Downtown LA! It has been ’round 3 years since our last gig together, and Lightnin’ considers them to be one of my fave local bands… If you’ve seen them, you’ll understand why; if you’ve never seen them, you gotta get your ass down to the redwood. You’re only denying yourself if you miss it… Also joining us for the first time are The Sundowners!
We had a blast in Bakersfield at On The Rocks the other night… Many thanks to Tim Gardea Presents and Jeff Beitzel for everything, and thank you to everybody who turned out! If you live in or around Bako and you decided to skip out, you done fucked up, fool!

John Lord appointed new BMF on drums!
Lightnin’ Woodcock & the Bad Muthafuckas are thrilled to welcome John Lord as the newest Bad MF on the drums! Y’all may know Johnnny from badass LA rock band HDR… He’s a legitimate bad motherfucker, and we’re lucky to have him on board. Come check out our new line-up ASAP… For Lightnin’s friends who never came to a gig while Ryan Wilson was on drums: shame on you, get the fuck away from your TV, turn off the goddamn computer and get yer ass out to see Lightnin’ & the BMFs once in a while, you’re fucking up!

To the Beat of a Different Drum
As many of you are already aware, Ryan Wilson has left the Bad Muthafuckas. Lightnin’ is sad to see Ryan go, as he has been a valuable team player and a solid drummer for nearly 2 years. We wanna say thanks to Ryan for doing a great job and wish him the best with all of his present and future endeavors… you can keep tabs on him through his blog: http://www.ryandrums.com. We plan to make an announcement soon about the new Bad MF taking over the throne, so stay tuned gawdemmit!
Meanwhile, Lightnin’ has been delighted to have Provisional Bad MF Bill Bateman filling in on the last couple of shows. Bateman is a local legend and a great guy, drummer of The Blasters, Doghouse Lords, Rumble Kings and many others. Lightnin’ was lucky to have him sit in with us, and we had a bluesy swing with Bill that made people get up and dance like fools. Lightnin’ blames Bill Bateman for that.
Lightnin’ wants to thank everybody who has expressed interest in drumming for the Bad MFs; also thanks to everybody who helped spread the word and sent Lightnin’ referrals. We replaced Ryan Wilson pretty quickly, then the replacement ditched us for a better gig, which really gave Lightnin’ the blues. It kinda knocks the wind outta yer sails when you have to deal with lineup changes, but Lightnin’ predicts that we will be up and running, better than ever, in no time.
